The high- speed ferries have been introduced on this route basically to promote remote areas, providing services and easing movement of equipment without going through borders.

Our ferry services will revolutionize transport in the gulf with five vessels NFC would overall run five such ferries , there will be two ferries in the north ( linking khasab with muscat ) , two in the south ( linking halniyat island with salalah ) and the fifth one would link masirah island with shannah in the east .

Shinas & Hormuz are a 65 meter, multi-purpose passenger vehicle catamaran ferry that has a capacity to carry 208 passengers and 56 cars. Talior-made for Oman’s ruggedly spectacular northern coastline, the ferry’s meets high safety and Passenger comfort standards. They billed as the world’s fastest diesel-powered vehicle ferry, are optimized to cover the 225 nautical mile journey at speed of up to 50 knots.

Passenger on the ferry will experience unparalleled comfort across three classes – tourist and first. High quality seating and catering facilities are all located on a single deck, with additional sea keeping comfort. Each of the seats has leather headrests, armrests, meal tray and life-jackets storage space. Onboard features include a helicopter landing facility to allow emergency operations.

The vessel’s has the capability to assist in search and rescue and medivac operations due to its helicopter landing facility, which is suitable for a medium class helicopter.
